Prophetic Ministry

A lot of people are confused when it comes to prophetic ministry. My new friend Prophet Jonathan Herring has written the basics of understanding the prophetic. It is very foundational. I hope you enjoy!

Amos 3:7

“Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.”

I have seen that many do not know about the ministry of the Prophet.  I believe it is high time for us to explore the different realms of Prophetic Ministry. Until we understand this, many will never know where they fit in. There are 4 levels of Prophetic Ministry, which I will expound on for you all.

The Spirit of Prophecy:

Revelation 19:10

“And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, ‘See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.’”

This is the simplest level of Prophetic Ministry. The Spirit of Prophecy makes it possible for all people in a certain area to move in the area of the Prophetic. When the Spirit of Prophecy manifests in a room, all people within the dwelling have the anointing upon them. When the Spirit of Prophecy lifts, the anointing to prophesy is gone. In 1 Samuel 10:10 we see how Saul came into contact with the Spirit of Prophecy. As he walked down the road of Gilgal, he walked before a company of Prophets. As Saul did, the Spirit of Prophecy came upon him and he began to prophesy. From this story, we see how this manifestation of the Holy Spirit works. When you come into contact with the Spirit of Prophecy, you have the ability to do as the Prophets do.

The Gift of Prophecy:

1 Corinthians 12:10

“…to another prophecy…”

The Gift of Prophecy and the Spirit of Prophecy are similar, but the gift is on a more advanced level. The Spirit of Prophecy can be taken away, while the Gift of Prophecy cannot. When God gives a gift to someone, He will not take it away. Romans 11:29 says that the gifts and callings of God cannot be taken away. Now let us look at the word Prophecy. Prophecy is when you speak or sing by divine inspiration; to mentally perceive and have vision of. Prophecy means to speak on behalf of another. When we speak on behalf of God, we are prophesying. Now the Gift of Prophecy mainly operates in the realm of the future. Now there are gifts that pass judgment and rebuke, like the Word of Knowledge, which I will explain later.

The Prophetic Anointing:

2 Kings 2:13

He also took up the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and went back and stood by the bank of the Jordan.”

Like Elisha, when someone picks up the “mantle” of the Prophetic, they are endowed with a Prophetic Anointing. Now hear this clearly: not everyone with a Prophetic Anointing is a Prophet. There is a thin line between the two, but never the less, there is a line. To have a Prophetic Anointing means to bear a mantle upon your high calling. For example: there are Prophetic Pastors and Prophetic Teachers. Pastor and Teacher are the high callings and the Prophetic Mantle or Anointing is like icing on the cake. There are different dimensions of Prophetic Anointing. There can be Dreamers, Visionaries, Prophetic Worshippers, Prophetic Intercessors, Prophetic Counselors, Prophetic Evangelist, Prophetic Writers, etc. Each of these can be Prophets, but not everyone with these anointings are Prophets.

The Office of the Prophet:

Ephesians 4:11

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers”

This is by far the most important and highest level of the Prophetic. This is the mighty Office of the Prophet. Without this office, there will be no foundation in the Church (Ephesians 2:19-20). The Office of the Prophet is one of the most important offices in the Body of Christ. Before we go into the attributes of this office, let us understand what a Prophet is. A Prophet, simply put, is the mouthpiece of God. Without the Prophet, the Church will miss out on a lot of what God is saying. Now there are many attributes to the Office of the Prophet:

1. Prophets set up that which is upset.

2. Prophets pull those out of line into order.

3. Prophets speak what God is saying in every situation.

4. Prophets rebuke, reproof, and pass judgment.

5. Prophets exhort, encourage, and exalt.

6. Prophets bring into open view God’s heartbeat and mindset for the people.

7. Prophets give clear direction and understanding.

8. Prophets explain things in all facets of time, getting people to understand the spiritual side of everything.

9. Prophets keep leaders in order and proper place.

10. Prophets stand in the gap in intercession for the people.

Prophet’s have a very unique place within the Church. Their ministry is very important and cannot be neglected. The Prophet’s Ministry is the interpretation of everything from a spiritual standpoint. This ministry is used to bring spiritual implications of things past, present, and future before the people of God. This ministry also gets people to understand the significance of things in their spiritual walk and value. There are three functions of the Prophets Ministry:

1. To hold things to the full thought of God, usually a reactionary thing.

2. A call back, redeclaration, and repronouncement of God’s mind; bringing into clear view again the thoughts of God.

3. Relates to the full, original, and ultimate purpose of God; in and through His people.

There are three gifts that a naturally flow through the Prophet:

1. The Word of Knowledge or Wisdom- A supernaturally inspired utterance of facts.

2. The Gift of Prophecy-A supernaturally inspired utterance from God.

3. The Discerning of Spirits-This is a supernatural ability to discern a person’s spiritual character and the source of his actions and messages, such as from the Holy Spirit, demon spirits, the human spirit or from the flesh.

Now Prophets receive more gifts than just these three, but these three gifts are a given.

A Prophet is able to function in four of the five ministry offices. The Prophet can function as Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher, as the Spirit wills. When the Prophets come into their rightful place in the Church, things will flow naturally and smoothly. A Prophet must have a heart for the people, moved by the spirit of compassion. The Apostles and the Prophets have a special connection with each other. The Apostle lays down the foundation, while the Prophet reveals the heart of the foundation and brings clarity to it. When the Apostles and Prophets take their place in the Church beside the Evangelist, Pastors and Teachers, we will become a Kingdom, rather than an organization. I pray that this information will bless you all and give you some much needed answers, Amen.

Moved with Compassion

I want to start this post of with a scripture.

Mark 1:40-42

40And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 41And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. 42And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.

-God revealed to me the importance of having compassion. This is a power dynamic in the place of prayer because when you pray from that place, you accomplish a lot in the spirit realm. A lot of people that consider themselves Christians have no compassion or their heart does not break for humanity. When Jesus looked at humanity’s pain, it caused him to react. He begin to introduce the kingdom of God, which is the superior reality. Jesue loved challenging other kingdoms. This is the door to miracles. When Jesus encountered the leper that wanted to be clean, the bible describes how he was moved with compassion. Webster’s Dictionary defines Compassion as “sympathetic consciousness of others’ distress together with a desire to alleviate it” Can you see how this relates to intercession. When we pray, We should pray from a desire to alleviate or resolve whatever the situation we are praying concerning.  I believe there is an anointing in that desire. It is the praying the heart of the father. If you are moved with compassion, this means that your emotions have been moved to operate out of the emotions of God. This is very important when you pray. When you are operating in this annointing, you stand as a son of God. Praying from the heart of God is very key, because sometimes we can get in our flesh and pray amiss. We think we be praying the will of God and we be off. Let us remember that His thoughts are not our thoughts. So the majority of the time, God’s perception of a situation or problem is completely different from ours. I love his wisdom. I have found out that when you pray his will. It make your prayer life more fruitful.

Nowadays, We have become common with sin, sickness, and poverty. If does not affect us anymore. We have the goods, but we just hold them to ourselves. God is definitely raising up those that will be moved to action. Many of our neighbors, friends, and family will not change until we get compassion and be moved to prayer for them instead of judging, looking down upon, or condemning them. We look at the unsaved as helpless and lost. Jesus looks at the unsaved as an opportunity to glorify his Father. Bringing glory to God’s name does not only consist of praising. It also consists stepping out in power. Let us arise in power and release it to a dying generation.

Wrestling with the Promises of God.

Hey Guys….Prophet’s Space is back! I am so excited about this season of my life. God is really doing some awesome things. I have become so encouraged by the many revelations he has given me concerning my call, mandate, and purpose.

I wanted to start this post about a scripture that in think pertains to intercession. It is Genesis 32:24-30. While wrestling with an angel until the next day, Jacob made powerful declaration that should describe our attitude toward intercession. He said, “I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.” This is very intriguing. Jacob demanded a blessing from the angel. The audacity of him! He understood that though sometimes its challenging if he held on he would have an opportunity to receive a blessing. He did not give up. See this is the attitude we should have in intercession. Many times in intercession we don’t understand how to labor in prayer for something til it  manifest or we receive a release from God that it is accomplished. Just like Daniel, Demonic powers will try to keep your prayers from reaching heaven (Daniel 10:12-13). Our strength is so low. We must remind God of his Word so that he is obligated to move. God only responds to his Word. I want to encourage some of you right here. If God told you he was going to expand your ministry and you don’t see how, Believe and wrestle in prayer for that Word to manifest. If you have a husband or wife that is unsaved, wrestle in the place of prayer until you see salvation come. What am trying to say here is that what God has told you don’t doubt it. Believe his word and wrestle in the place of prayer til it manifest. When I use the word “wrestle” I mean to pray until something happens. Keep praying until the thing he promised has manifested. You may have to pray for days, months, even years, but stand on his word for truth. We must have tenacity and fervency in this area. God is raising up Men and women that will commit to prayer for this nation and the nations of the world.

 Be Blessed!

Unpredecedent Faith (Collaborative effort)

What does it means to have faith! I was really challenged with this truth for the past couple of days. Faith is far past believing for material things and or even the existence of God. I find faith to be like a doorway to the supernatural. It is what opens the door to eternity. It brings the reality of the kingdom of God to our existence. Everything that is eternal is unseen. However this is the place where we have dominion, but you need to faith to realize this dominion and release it in the earth. A lot of people do not access faith to connect to the unseen realm. Unprecedented Faith is……………………………………

***Finish my thoughts and by completing the statement with your impressions, notes, or biblical understanding. I will take what you wrote in the comments section and repost. This post is a collaborative effort.
